Oct. 4, 2005 - Having a good time at the Dodge SRT Event at Summit Point Raceway

About a month ago I went with another Roadfly writer to a driving event sponsored by the folks of the Dodge SRT Group.  Events like this are a lot of fun. We had a chance to learn about the SRT cars being produced by the Dodge & Chrysler divisions of Daimler-Chrysler. We didn't just learn in the classroom we got a lot of seat time around Summit Point Raceway as well.

No that wasn't me doing the smokey burntout in the Viper motored Dodge Ram. The head of the Dodge SRT engineering team was  having a little fun towards the end of the day and decided he wanted to show us what a real burnout looked like.  Needless to say there were some pretty large chunks of rubber behind the rear wheel wells after he was done.

Should I put a disclaimer here... "performed on a closed circuit with professional driver."
