Description
I plan to use this as a brief log for people to look at and see whats going on with the little car. If I can remember I'll post photos of projects and blunders. The 74tii is a fine automobile and I fully intend to let everyone know just how fine it really is.

Alfa club 2000 rally computer
After doing our first
rally without a clock that showed hundreths and an odometer that didnt
show tenths Ian talked our mother into buying us the Alfa club 2000
rally computer. Keep in mind Im thirty and my brother is 35,
youre never too old to let mom buy you something.
We found this computer to be priceless, we crossed timimg ropes
right on time from the start of the rally, then averaged about 2
hundredths off as we got tired later in the rally. Oh well.
I have a couple of pics showing where and how we mounted the
computer. It vibrates a little at idle, but is still pretty
good. Im thinking about how to cut down on the vibration with out
putting holes in my dash.

buying the 2002tii
I looked here on
roadfly along with about 40 other sites, autotraders, newspapers,
pennysavers, readers and more websites. I knew that it was a tii
I wanted. I prefered a 72 or 73, but would settle for a 74.
I found a 74, it was in Stockton, CA. At the time I was living in
Oceanside, CA (now living in Temecula) so I rented a trailer and my dad
and I drove up to Stocton to get the car. As far as I was
concerned the car looked great (from 15 feet), so it had a few runs in
the paint and had undergone a color change from tiaga to
chamonix. The engine bay and trunk were still tiaga... lame!
It ran rough and needed some attention fast, I figured this was
the car for me. What swayed me to get it was the fact that the
top end was fresh (15k) and the Kfisher was also replaced at the same
(aprox) time. so where the tierods. All things considered,
the PO had put about 4k into it rescently. For only $4500 I
drove the car to the uhaul rental center and loaded it on a trailer for
the trip home. What did I get myself
into..............................

74o2TII
well, this is my car the day after the "return to the sleepy hollow" rally on October 8th, 2005.
I purchased the car for a rolling restoration... gas prices went up...
Well, to say the least, Its a daily driver for my 60 mile round trip commute to work every day.
Then my brother and I were introduced to road rallying. SWEET!
Its so much fun!
Rallys usually start durring the day and end at night. We
have done an 8 hour rally and a 9 hour rally. So, the night part
is why you see some old school "jack-man" off road lights on the front
of the car. I borrowed (permantly) them from my father, he used them on
the vw baja bug back in the 70's.
Wow, they really light up the road. I can only imagine what the
newer rally lights can do. I mounted them on the tubes for a
short bumper kit. Works perfectly and almost looks like they
belong. I dont intend to put a front bumper back on, just a
little zender style spoiler. The back side of the car will take
some work to make it look right (ie.. the three huge square holes from
the 74 rear bumper), but I found a guy in canada that makes fiberglass
bumpers for the 2002, 73 and earlier type.
More to come on that, should be later next year before I get around to that.
